William E. Harper, 88 passed away and went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2025 at St. Ann's Hospital after complications from a testing procedure.
He was the husband of Martha L. (Dykes) Harper, 89, of Columbus Ohio. They had been married for 68 years.
Born in Olive Green, Ohio, (Southeastern Ohio), he was the youngest child of Martin L Harper and Mary B (Orr) Harper. He was preceded in death by his sister(s) Edna Parry-Ellenberger, Enid (Harper) Ebbesen, Elda Harper (infant), and his brother Martin (Edgel) Harper.
He had lived at Dudley, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio, and Wagram/Reynoldsburg Ohio, and was well liked by neighbors and friends alike.
He leaves a daughter, Cathy A (Harper) Lantz, widow of James N Lantz (1961-2024), and son, George W. (Bill) Harper, and many nieces/nephews, and great nieces/nephews.
He had worked as a bakeshop foreman at Wonder Bread in Columbus, Ohio, as well as a furniture refinisher, tow truck operator, garbage truck driver, Contract Sweepers, and general carpenter/handyman. He was proficient in woodworking, creating keepsake woodcrafts and building custom pieces.
He and Martha had been members of Wagram Community Church for many years, and he served as a trustee there.
Having survived several spinal surgeries, and a broken neck/surgery, and prostate cancer, his health had declined in recent years, so we're grateful he's no longer in pain.
His cremated remains will be interred at Pataskala Cemetery, Pataskala Ohio.
