William Bates

William was born on June 2, 1945, in St. Louis, MO. He is preceded in death by his parents; Sylvester Bates and Stella Kirkland. He is survived by his children; Robert (Rachelle) Bates and Oralia Cosby, Mother of his children and former wife, Alice R. Bates; 3 Brothers: Willie, Oliver and Charles; 4 Sisters, Edna, Daisy, Annette and Pinky. along with 6 grand-children; Sean, Brian, Kelly, Miranda, Ciara and Brandon, that he cherished. Bill retired from the State of Ohio Department of Corrections. He is much loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. "A Celebration of Life" will be held on Monday April 20th, 2015 with visitation from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm, with a service starting at 7:00 pm officiated by Pastor Johnny Griffin Jr. Services is located in the Chapel at Edwards Funeral Service located at 1166 Parsons Avenue.
