Vivian Ruth (Stahlhut) Brey, age 89, of Worthington, died Saturday, February 11, 2017.
Vivian was a 1945 graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, and a 1949 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, where she met and married her husband of 52 years, Carl Franklin Brey, who preceded her in death. She was active at her church and taught public school and church Sunday school, as well as the prayer group. She sponsored Vietnamese refugees and served as a consultant to the Columbus Public Schools for English as a second language. She also worked to support foster children, foreign exchange students, teen mothers and homeless families.
Vivian is survived by her children, Linda Brey Marous (Michael), Donald Carl Brey (Diane), Steven Phillip Brey (Lynda Ward); grandchildren, Daniel Roe Marous (Mandy), Sarah Marous Rinaldo (Dan), Melany Carolyn Brey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. at WORTHINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 600 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, Rev. Cyndy Garn officiating. The family will greet visitors in the parlor immediately after the service.
