Timothy Powells Sr, affectionately known as D.P., passed away on June 19, 2026. Born on August 14, 1978, Timothy’s journey through life was one marked by resilience, commitment, and the unyielding love he freely shared with those around him.
Timothy’s memory is cherished deeply by his beloved son, Timothy Powells Jr. The bond between father and son was a source of strength and joy, one that will be treasured and carried forward. He is also survived by his devoted sisters: Tammy Powells, Tina Bates, Jocletta Powells, Sabrinia Powells, and Anneta Powells. Each sister recalls Timothy’s kindness, humor, and the irreplaceable role he played as a brother, mentor, and friend within the family. He also leaves behind a dear friend Leatrice Rutland. The warmth he brought into their lives continues to resonate, even in his absence.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Diane Banks. While his passing leaves a profound sense of loss among family and friends, Timothy’s spirit remains alive through their shared memories and love.
Family and friends are invited to honor Timothy’s life and legacy at visitation services on July 3, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Families First at Edwards, located at 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43206. Immediately following, a funeral service will be held at the same location from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, providing an opportunity for all who knew him to gather, reflect, and give thanks for Timothy’s life.
Though his time with us was far too short, Timothy Powells Sr’s kindness, loyalty, and enduring love have left an indelible mark. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, ensuring that his story will continue to inspire and uplift for generations to come.
