Thomas ("Tom") Floyd Gibson was born, October 12, 1948, in Columbus Ohio to Charles ("Hoot") and June Gibson.
He grew up in Columbus Ohio. Tom joined the Marines and served his Country honorably in the Vietnam War.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Tom married Pam. They were married for over 41 years. Tom enjoyed fishing with his kids, coaching tee ball, bowling, and attending school activities. Tom rarely missed an Ohio State Fair, something he always enjoyed with his family.
Tom worked for Inland Products and then retired from the City of Columbus Wastewater treatment plant where he had been a plant operator for over 13 years. He was also a weekend manager for the Columbus Dispatch for several years.
After Tom retired, he became a grandfather to Nathan, Audrey, and Cole. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Tom passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
He is survived by his wife Pam Gibson, daughter Tonia Gibson (Becca), sons Keith Gibson (Colleen) and Tommy Gibson. Tom is also survived by his sister Marilyn Dennison of Columbus and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He is preceded in death by his mother June and father Charles Gibson; sister Linda Williams of Hebron Ohio; and two sons, Christopher and John.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tom's life at Edwards Funeral Home (1166 Parsons Ave.) on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 4pm until 7pm. A graveside service with military honors will be performed on Monday, February 20th at 12pm at Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling Ohio.
