In Loving Memory of Terry Martin Sloat (age 51)
Terry Sloat (aka Buddy Bud), the youngest son of Jerry and Barbara Sloat, was called home to
be with the Lord on June 14, 2022. A loving son, brother, domestic partner and friend. He had a
warm-loving heart, humorous personality, and was an all-around animal lover. His memories will
be cherished and presence missed by many.
Terry's life journey began in Balboa, Panama on December 17, 1970. As his father was in the
military when he was born, he lived in various states. He primarily grew up in Virginia and Ohio.
He attended high school in Victoria, VA and played high school football. He participated in a
vocational school for carpentry but found himself working in manufacturing to be close to his
parents. His passions included listening to country music, exploring and discussing science,
history and the Bible. His favorite pass time was playing and creating video games. Columbus
Ohio is where he met the love of his life, Rita Wycuff, as she joined him in his life's journey.
Terry had elected to be an organ, eye and tissue donor and is a hero for helping other families
carry on with their journey. He transitions to heaven leaving happiness and joy to his donor
recipients. Terry leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, two brothers Timothy and Glen, sister Carryl, his only daughter Michele Gurung, domestic partner Rita, many aunts, cousins and friends.
LIFE IS A JOURNEY NOT A DESTINATION! HIS HEAVENLY ARRIVAL IS A BLESSING!
FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN
