Sue Ann Gunderman-Mickatavage, 72, of St. Joseph, Michigan passed away peacefully Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Lakeland Hospital from heart disease and lung cancer complications.
Sue was born May 28, 1949 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, a daughter of the late Stewart and Esther Rae Gunderman.
After her mother passed away when she was 5, Sue was raised by her father, Aunt Margie and Uncle Murl Krick. She graduated 3rd in her class of 1967 from Paulding High School and in 1969 graduated from Porter Business College, Indianapolis, Indiana.
In 1978, she married Bruce Mickatavage, her husband of 43 years.
She loved dancing to Motown music and was a talented interior decorator.
Sue was a member of the Paulding, First Christian Church (Disciples).
Employed at the Modern Finance Company, Defiance, Ohio, she relocated to the Columbus, Ohio office in 1975 and worked until the birth of her son, Justin, in 1981.
Sue’s love of history translated into active involvement in various genealogy and historical societies in Ohio and Michigan including Find A Grave, First Families of Paulding County, and The Paulding County Genealogical Society.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Mickatavage of St. Joseph Michigan; a son Justin (Eliza) and grandson Adler of Chicago, Illinois; her sister Linda McDonald, nieces Amanda Mellott and Colleen McDonald of Columbus, Ohio; cousin Murl Jr Krick of Paulding, Ohio, as well as all her other cousins whom she loved dearly. Her cousin, Kay Krick Johnson preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Sept 3rd at The Huntington Chapel, Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio. Viewing will be at 12:30 pm, service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Ken Slenkovich officiating. Following the service, a reception will be held at the 4th Ave. Christian Church 296 W. 4th Ave, Columbus, Ohio.
