Sherry Kay Staggers

Sherry K. Staggers, 76, passed away at the James Cancer Hospital on September 7, 2025, surrounded by family.  Born in Newark, Ohio to the late Robert F. and Kathern M. (Pendleton) Whyde.

Sherry graduated from Licking Valley High School and went on to graduate with her nursing degree from COTC Newark.  Sherry retired from Licking Memorial Hospital where she worked as a nurse in the Labor and Delivery department welcoming countless babies into the world.

She is survived by her son Richard (Kelsie) Staggers of Hanover  Sisters Vicki (Craig) Moore of Newark and Kathy (Mike) Scott of Toboso

Special Aunt Joyce (James) Young of Hebron  Grandchildren Bodhi Staggers and Eli & Talia Staffan  Nieces Linzie (Adam) Conn, Amanda (Jacob) Glover, Angie (Daniel) West Nephew Heath (Misty) Moore

Special porch time family who gave her hours of endless joy – Colby, Carter, & Piper Conn

She is also survived by two daughters-in-law Ada Staggers and Marsha Jo Staggers, six grandchildren, and many great grandchildren from her extended Staggers family.

Sherry cherished a special relationship with grandson Donald (Angie) Staggers, great grandchildren Brady (Libby) Staggers, Callie Shea (Chris) McLain, Eli Staggers, and two great great grandchildren Mabel & Beau McLain.

Sherry enjoyed time with local friends with whom she shared many adventures and luncheons. She has touched many lives and will be truly missed.

Sherry is preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard J. Staggers, and two stepsons Stanley and Jack Staggers.

There will be no service as to honor Sherry's wishes.
