Sharon Levonne Jeter, age 74 of Columbus, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2026, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Hospice Unit. Sharon was born on September 24, 1951 to the late Ervin and Vernette Sims Jeter. Raised in Columbus, OH, she grew up in the Milo—Grogon neighborhood, where she attended Columbus Public Schools and graduated from Linden McKinley High School. Shoron then pursued her passion for beauty by earning a degree from the Columbus Ohio Poro School of Cosmetology, embarking on a rewarding career in cosmetology.
As a member of Mount Vernon Avenue A.M.E Church, Sharon was known and appreciated for her straightforwardness and the gentle subtlety she exhibited in her interlocutions'. Her warm and loving nature endeared her to everyone she met, and those who knew her were blessed to experience her kindness and humor.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cassondra Mizelle, and her nephew Dwayne Mizelle. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Toneequa (Rodricus) Byers and Keisha Norris, her grandchildren Malcolm, Milan, and Morika Jeter—Walker, her brother Earl "Butch" Jeter, and her sister Gwendolyn
Jeter. She also leaves behind a loving extended family, including nephew Wesley (Shivern) Jeter, nieces Jovonni (Wesley) Moore, Courtney Jeter, Samantha Mizelle, and great—nephews Ares Harper, Elijah Harper, and Jeremyah Hall, as well as great—nieces Micah Brinkley, December Lee, and Avo Jeter Carter along with a wide network of family and friends who will continue to feel her influence.
