Columbus

Sabrina J. Mayes, 69, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in her home. Born on October 5, 1956, in Columbus, she remained deeply rooted in the community that shaped her life and values.

Sabrina shared a remarkable 51-year marriage with her devoted husband, George R. Mayes Jr., a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Together they raised three children: Paul Mayes, Lisa Mayes, and Richard Mayes (Kristy). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren—Devin Mayes, Jacob Mayes, Hayden Mayes, and Kinlli King—each of whom brought immense joy to her life. Though she mourned the loss of her grandson Dillon Mayes, his memory remained close to her heart.

She was also a beloved sister to Wilda Mitchell and Paul Robinson Jr. (Vicky), and held dear the many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whom she embraced as family throughout her life.

Sabrina was known for her loving spirit and unwavering selflessness. Her unconditional love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She had a special place in her heart for animals—especially those injured or abandoned—and cared for them with compassion and tenderness.

For over two decades, Sabrina was a faithful member of Asbury United Methodist Church South. Her commitment to faith and community reflected the values by which she lived: kindness, humility, and service to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Robinson Sr. and Donna Robinson, and grandson Dillon Mayes.

A Celebration of Life will be announced soon for friends and family to gather in remembrance of Sabrina’s beautiful life.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her
