Ronald “Ronnie” Forrest was a fun-loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his family, making others laugh, and giving each of his loved ones a special nickname that reflected the unique bond they shared. Ronnie passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, at the age of 70. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love, laughter, and happiness he brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten.

He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Shean McGill Jr., Joreese McGill, Alyssa McGill, Cameron McGill, Mikedriana Walker, Michariye Walker, Richarian Campbell, Patriciana Campbell, Malik McGill, Mykel McGill, Myecia Glass, Whitney Jordan, Devonte Pierce, India Pierce, Elijah Franklin, Rosemary Franklin, Alexis Thompkins, and Rishawne Thompkins; along with 25 great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his legacy of love.
Ronnie also leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Janice Forrest, Anita Forrest, Ruth Forrest, and Gary Forrest, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary Forrest and Moses Forrest; his son, Ronald Michael Lee McGill; and his grandsons, Demote Giles and Javonte Giles.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of Ronnie’s life on Friday, October 16, 2026, at Families First Chapel, 1166 Parsons Avenue.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a Homegoing Service and Celebration of Life beginning at 1:00 p.m.
As we come together to honor Ronnie, may we remember the laughter he shared, the nicknames he lovingly gave, and the countless ways he made life a little brighter for those around him. Though he has taken his final rest, his spirit will live on through the family he loved and the memories that will forever remain.
