Mr. Phillip A Beer

Phillip Beer of Mansfield, OH, 76 years of age, passed away Monday November 27th,
2023. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings, son, and Wife Patricia (Wilson) Beer.
Phil was the kindest soul. He never knew a stranger. Most people could not get out a greeting
before Phil had them wrapped in a strong hug, or his classic, combo handshake and shoulder
squeeze. He was an adoring son, friend, husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather. Leaving
behind a brother Stan Beer (Melinda) nieces and nephews, two sons, Peter (Abby) and Stephen
(Colleen). As well as grandsons Liam, Sullivan, and Rory.
Phil’s career in the Service stopped, before it started, when he lost several fingers in an
accident involving an airplane propeller. This spared him from Vietnam. Shortly after, he
married the love of his life, Patricia Wilson. Phil pivoted and put his skills to work as a Carpenter
and Contractor. Phil and Trish had 3 sons. They lost their middle child due to complications in
childbirth. As their oldest and youngest sons grew, they became apprentices and then coworkers
of Beer Builders. Reluctantly, and well into his 70’s, Phil retired and passed the business to his
son, Peter. The loyalty he had to his clients was reciprocated. He served many households,
providing impeccable workmanship on their projects.
For Phil it was God, family, and work. This was his trifecta. God, first and foremost. Loved
God, loved us, and Loved work. He was excellent in these pursuits. So, as it was very well put by
a friend, our Dad/Papa, “…got his promotion!” For certain, Phil is in Heaven with God, and the
loved ones he has dearly missed.
When Phil’s ability to communicate diminished we could still get from his flickers of
excitement and eye contact that he was lighting up for us. If you knew him, even met him one
time, you know what I mean. He genuinely put forth a loving greeting to every person who
crossed his path.

Phillip Beer's funeral will be held on February 15th at Calvary Baptist Church at 210 Davis Rd, Ashland, Ohio 44805. Visitation at 10am service at 11am.
