It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ouida "Rita" Tennihill, a beloved resident of Waverly, OH, who departed this world peacefully on Saturday, May 16th, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on October 28th, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, Ouida was the cherished daughter of the late Curtis Coffey and Garnet Sherritt.
Ouida was a woman of remarkable warmth and kindness, whose spirit shone brightly. Her life was a testament to resilience and joy, finding immense happiness in the company of her family and through her favorite pastime, fishing. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cultivated deep, enduring relationships that will be cherished forever.
She leaves behind a loving legacy through her daughter, Tonia Marie Harris, and her son, David Clark Harris, along with his wife Edlyn. Ouida was a proud grandmother to Jacob, Coralee and Aaron, and her love extended to her great-grandchildren Wyatt, Lucy, Ethan, and Bosswei. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Patricia Linley, and her dearest friend, Rosemary Walker, who stood by her side throughout life's journey.
Ouida was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas Tennihill, her parents, Curtis Coffey and Garnet Sherritt, a brother, Harold Thompson and her grandson, Wyatt. Her departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her compassion and warmth touched many lives, and her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in those she left behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Ouida's memory and legacy. Arrangements are being handled by Families First Cremation and Funeral at Edwards.
