Oneita B Streets, 95, passed away Wednesday February 15, 2017 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.

Oneita was born April 9, 1921 in Handford Village to the late Jasper and Aristas Thomas where she was the youngest of five children.

Oneita was a graduate of Capital University where she majored in Music. Oneita retired from the Columbus Public school board system. Oneita had a passion of teaching, she loved teaching music. She was faithful and dedicated church member of Wesley Hope United Methodist Church, where she was the director of the senior choir.

Oneita was a part of the first black group to play on Television for the Thomas Singers.

Oneita loved playing the organ and the piano. She visited several churches to be a part of the worship of music.

Oneita is preceded in death by Husband Chester Streets; Brothers Robert and Donald Thomas; Sister Marie and Margaret Thomas; Nephew Donald Carter; Niece Arlyn Taylor.

Leaves to cherish her memory A host of nephew; Nieces; great nephews; great nieces; special dear friends James Stinson, Jean Wallace, Ann Bradley, Dolly Trent, and Lois Thornton.

A Home going service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday March 17, 2017 at the Wesley Hope United Methodist Church, 2935 Bulen Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43205. Viewing will start at 10:00 AM
