Meredith Ann Black

Meredith Ann (Knight) Black, 84, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025 at First Community Village in Columbus, Ohio. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Dorothy (Lehman) Knight.  She served honorably in the U.S. Army as a supply clerk from 1960-62.

She was a medical records clerk at Children's Hospital in Columbus, and later at Good Samaritan Hospital in Glendale, Arizona.  She was a member of Manna-Fest Christian Cathedral International. Over the years, she crocheted thousands of hats for the homeless, following her hearts desire to serve God. She also wrote poetry as a hobby.  She will be remembered as an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and THE Ohio State University Buckeyes. And she was always ready with a joke.

She is survived by her son, Jim Musselwhite, her grandchildren Amber Musselwhite, Nathan Musselwhite, James (Delores) Gillotte of California, Joshua Gillotte of Florida, great grandchildren Denee, Brayden, Lillith, Penelope, and William, sister Mary Finn, nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jim and Dorothy (Lehman) Knight, husband Clarence Black, daughters Nancy Musselwhite and Beth Gillotte, sons Bobby Musselwhite and Darryll Musselwhite, daughter-in-law Diana Musselwhite, sisters Louise Hansel, Janet Hodge, brother Jimmy Knight.

Memorial service is as follows: Saturday, May 17, 2025 visitation will start at 10:00 at First Community Village 1801 Riverside Drive Columbus, Ohio 43212 Funeral service will follow at 11:00. Please feel free to dress comfortably.
