Melvin Daniel “Dan” Haines, age 67, passed away Friday, July 31, 2026 at home and surrounded by family. Dan was born on February 16, 1959 in Grove City, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martha Jean Haines and Mark Richard Haines.

Dan was a 1976 graduate of Grove City High School. Dan pursued a fulfilling career as journeyman electrician with RCDD certification and was a proud member of IBEW Local Union 683. Dan enjoyed golfing with his fellow IBEW retirees at Homestead Springs and loved attending the annual WGA tournament. His mini goldendoodle, Abby, was his constant companion.

Surviving are his children, Kel (Madi) Kohr and Corinne (Garrett) Strawser, and siblings, Janet Overstreet, Mark J. (Julie) Haines, and Dale Haines. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Pelotonia or the American Cancer Society to support cancer research.
