Marcella Mitchell, age 72, of Columbus, Ohio, peacefully departed this life on July 20, 2026.

Born on January 22, 1954, in Barnesville, Georgia, to Luvenia Geiger and Walter Geiger, Marcella later made her home in Columbus, Ohio, where she became known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering love for her family.

Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Luvenia Geiger and Walter Geiger; her son, Walter James Mitchell; her sister, Martha Geiger; and her brother, Frankie Geiger.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving children: Travis Geiger, Terry Geiger, Tyrone Geiger, Kiya Gibbs, Toney Gibbs, Keidra Gibbs, and Katrina Gibbs. She is also survived by her brother, Conrad Geiger; a host of beloved grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family members; and many dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Marcella's greatest joy was her family. She loved bringing everyone together through home-cooked meals, holiday celebrations, and family gatherings filled with laughter. She enjoyed listening to music, visiting the casino, and creating memories with those she loved most.

She will always be remembered for her infectious sense of humor, her easygoing personality, and her ability to make everyone feel at home. Marcella never met a stranger. Her Southern hospitality, kind heart, and willingness to help both friends and strangers made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Though she is no longer with us in body, the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the memories she created will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
