Lonnie Ray Lester

April 9, 1954 — February 19, 2024

Columbus

On February 19th, 2024 Lonnie Ray Lester took his final trip to walk through those gates in heaven. Waiting on him at those gates was his parents, Father William Norman Lester Jr. Mother Mary Lou Hartley. His love of his life Debbie Lester, and his daughter Katrina Lester.

Visitations will be held February 26th, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. for close family and 12:00 p.m. for all until 2:00 p.m. at Families First Cremation and Funeral at Edwards. 1166 Parsons Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43206.

Lonnie was born on April 9th 1954 in the mountains of Majestic, Kentucky. He is survived by daughter Tara Lester, Brothers Robert and Bill Lester, Sister Catherine Mae Cash, Adopted Sister Mary Hartley, grandchildren Devon Lester, Mickayla Mickenzie Hunter Hashman, Jeremy, Harley Roberts, 7 great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.

Lonnie Lester worked hard and became one of the best brick masons. He took pride in every brick or stone he laid. Lonnie welcomed almost anyone he met with a smile. By the time you left, you were part of his family.

Lonnie loved to fish, four wheel, listen and play music, and spending time watching television. He adored all his pets. He is leaving behind dogs, cats, fish, a crazy turtle and his hairless dogs, iguanas.

Lonnie would love to get people by playing tricks. When the illness started making his life difficult he decided he would instigate everyone and laugh about it for his own amusement.  He tried to be strong all the way to the end. He will be missed every day.

Special thanks to Deidre Tyree for spending time looking after Lonnie. You have really kept his spirits up.
