Lloyd Leslie Belt, 71, of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Lloyd was born on October 21, 1954, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to John and Ruth Belt. Although born in Texas, Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Newark, Ohio, where he built his life, and raised his family.

Above all else, Lloyd was a father, grandfather, brother, partner, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Angel (Alex) Crenshaw; son, Beau (Rachel) Belt; grandsons, Jayden Camp, Malakai Camp, and Dillon Belt; brother, John (Barb) Belt; sister, Viola (Belt) Price; nieces, Heather Belt and Christina Belt; longtime partner, Debra Coleman; bonus grandchildren, Shane and Trinity; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Belt; his sister, Carolyn; and his brother, Troy.

Lloyd dedicated more than 30 years of his life to Mid-Ohio Wood Products, where he worked as a saw operator. He was also a longtime member of the Newark Eagles, where he enjoyed the fellowship and friendships that came with being part of the organization.

Though Lloyd’s life was not without its challenges, he leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory with them. His hardworking spirit, stubborn determination, sense of humor, and simple enjoyment of life will not be forgotten. He was a man who worked hard, loved in his own way, and appreciated the good things—a long day finished, time with the people he cared about, and a cold beer in his hand.

Lloyd may be gone, but the memories he created and the mark he left on those who knew him will remain.
