Kewhyon Hartwell

June 29, 2005 — April 29, 2025

Columbus

Kewhyon Hartwell, lovingly known as "Butter," was born on June 29, 2005, in Lansing, Michigan. He left us too soon on April 29, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, where he will be remembered fondly for his vibrant spirit and passion for life.

Kewhyon was a multifaceted individual; a jack of all trades with an extraordinary knack for fixing anything that came his way. His creative talents shone through as an artist, capable of drawing anything he saw. With a playful and daring personality, he embraced life as a prankster and a gymnast, earning respect for his boldness and adventurous nature. His love for food was evident in his favorite snacks—sour peach rings, juju fish, and flaming hot Cheetos—and his cherished breakfast cereals, Fruity Pebbles and Golden Grahams.

Kewhyon recently worked at Crown Industry warehouse after having previously been engaged in CDL press work alongside Sheriff Brown. He graduated from high school in 2023, proudly receiving the Noble award for exceeding expectations in behavior. Known for his protective and loyal spirit, he was incredibly close to his family, often engaging them in their unique version of dodgeball, which they playfully called "will bammer." A lover of video games, he frequently enjoyed diving into the worlds of Fortnite and Roblox. Kewhyon was enrolled in the AMP Program at Impact Community Action.

In his daily life, Kewhyon was characterized by his ambition, bravery, and extraordinary charm, traits that left an impression on all who knew him. His favorite color was violet, and he had a notable passion for sneakers, particularly Jordans.

Kewhyon is survived by his devoted mother, Lekia Jeana Watson; his sisters, Mea Nirvana Hartwell, Kari Mayo, Calmonie Ostrander, Karma Payne, Lai'Lonnie Ostrander, and Injiya Grace Crawford; and his brother, Calvin Ostrander. He joins in eternal rest his beloved grandmothers, Gloria Watson and Liza Robinson, who will surely welcome him with open arms.
