Jeffrey Scott Thompson was born in Beaumont, Texas on April 4, 1982. Jeff passed tragically and many years too soon on April 25, 2024, at the age of 42.
Jeff will be remembered for his unapologetically outgoing personality. Jeff never met a stranger. He flattered everyone he encountered, and he made everyone whose path crossed his feel like a friend (including the drive-through attendant).
Growing up, Jeff was a phenomenal baseball player. He was also an avid outdoorsman, and he passed his love for hunting and fishing along to his son, Gavin. Jeff never lost sight of his Texas roots, and he brought his southern charm with him to Ohio, where he moved to be a father to his daughter, Brielle. In Ohio, Jeff continued his love for baseball by playing in an adult softball league until his passing. Jeff also inherited his parents' love for bowling. Jeff and his wife Kelly bowled in a league in Columbus, although Jeff never bowled a 300 as did his dad, Redge, and his son, Gavin.
Jeff worked in the insurance industry for nearly 20 years. Jeff took immense pride in his work, and his colleagues have already expressed how much he is missed.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald (“Redge”) Sebastian Thompson and Denise Rene’ Bruce Thompson; his grandparents, Joseph Allan Bruce (“Paw Paw”) and Grandma Janice Bruce. He is survived by his beloved and supportive wife, Kelly Arnaud Thompson; his daughter and the light of his life, Brielle Thompson; his son and his pride and joy, Gavin Thompson; and his loving and steadfast sister, Amanda (“Mandy”) Lane; along with many extended family members and friends.
Those that truly knew Jeff loved him for who he really was. Jeff's contagious laugh and charismatic personality are and will always be deeply missed. His death is a profound loss for this world. May Jeff rest easy now, without stress, pain, or fear.
