James "Jim" Warren Wilcox, 82, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2026.

Born on December 17, 1943, Jim lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a willingness to help others. He proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning a career that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit. Alongside his beloved wife, Patricia, he co-founded Arlin Tool Company, where the two worked side by side for many years selling industrial cutting tools and building both a successful business and a life together.

Jim found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family, feeding ducks at the park, admiring Porsches, spending time around boats, and working with his hands. Whether fixing something that was broken or tackling a new project, he was happiest when he was building, repairing, or creating something.

Known simply as "Papaw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he treasured every moment spent with them. His love for his family was evident in everything he did, and the memories they created together will remain with them always.

Jim is survived by his brother, Jack Smith (Narissa); his children, Ben Wilcox, Barry Wilcox, Jenna Webb (Walt), Julie Brodes, and James Wilcox; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Siefer-Wilcox; his mother, Dorothy Smith (Downer); and his brother, Jeff Smith.

Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, his unwavering work ethic, and the quiet kindness he showed through everyday moments. His legacy lives on through the family who loved him and will forever remember him as Dad, Brother, Friend, and most especially, Papaw.

There will be a public viewing held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 4pm-6pm at Families First Cremation and Burial at Edwards located at 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43206. 614-444-3200

The burial will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10am located at Dayton National Cemetery located 4400 West 3rd Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
