James Michael White

James Michael White, 69, passed away peacefully at Grant Medical Center on February 9, 2017. He was born April 19, 1947, in Columbus, OH to Johnny Cummings and Annabelle Minnis.

Michael was educated in the Columbus Public School System. He retired from the State of Ohio after many years of service. Michael was an active member of the Harvey Alston Elks Lodge. He was an avid fisherman and always looked forward to going to Florida to fish with his step-father and spend time with his mother. Michael also enjoyed spending time building computers. He liked listening to music and he loved to dance.

Michael leaves to mourn his children, James Michael White, Jr., Lamonta Clark, and Michelle Cotton; step-children, Tonya Hymes and Misty Dickerson; grandchildren, Kendall L. White, Aaliyah Enoch, Alicia Enoch, Anthony Enoch, Briana Cotton, Brittany Cotton, Brandi Cotton, and Nathan Calloway, Jr., and 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Peaches) Nails, Savannah, GA; nieces, Angela Nails, Detroit, MI and Tawnya Nails, Smyrna, GA; along with a host of relatives and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Margie J. White; mother, Annabelle Kelley; step-father, Lorenie Kelley; favorite aunt, Norma Jean Minnis; grandmother, Ruby Cook-Norwood; and brother-in-law, Cleve (Frank) Nails.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 11-1 PM at Edwards Funeral Service Chapel, 1166 Parsons Avenue, Columbus, OH 43206
