James Paol Chievitz will be remembered with love for the life he lived and the many interests that brought him joy. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and went on to build a long and respected career as a Senior Certified Public Accountant for Chemical Abstract Systems, where he worked for three decades.
Jim had a deep love of sports and followed them with great enthusiasm. He was a devoted fan of all kinds of sports, with special affection for Buckeye football and women’s Buckeye basketball. Tennis also held a special place in his life, and he never missed the Wimbledon Championships. He also deeply loved golf. Jim is also remembered for his golden voice, that could beat even the best sports announcers and commentators to date. Those who knew him knew how remarkable his memory was when it came to sports, and he could rattle off statistics like no other.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, and his father, James. Jim is survived by his brother, Rick Chievitz; Rick’s wife, Leeann; and their daughter, Molly Chievitz. He is also survived by his best friend, Laura Belg, whose friendship was a treasured part of his life.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his loyalty to the people close to him, and the joy he found in the games and pastimes he loved so well. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and peace to all who mourn his passing.
