James was born on January 16, 1954 in Franklin, WV to Velma Clifford.
James survived by his daughter Michelle Root; Grandchildren Mattqwesha, Maya (Erik), Montel and Maceo; 15 Great Grandchildren; Brother Robert Clifford and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his mother Velma, wife Marilyn Clifford and his sisters Karen and Sylvia.
