Gwendolyn Badger Morris

July 9, 1935 — May 18, 2024

Plain City

On Saturday, May 18, 2024 Gwen Morris, our beloved mother, passed away in Marysville Ohio at the age of eighty-eight years old. Gwen was born in Wilmington California as the fourth of five children to John and Emma Mae Badger.

Having an independent spirit, Gwen married early in life and had 3 sons and 1 daughter.  She worked in the defense industry at North American Rockwell in California. She received many awards for her dedicated work and was sorely missed when she retired. She met fellow defense worker George (Bud) Morris at Rockwell who became her husband and her family increased with 3 stepdaughters. The family resided in Pedley California until retiring to Lewiston and Bull Head City. They were together for 44 years.

Gwen could always be found at her husband’s side as his tireless helpmate. They participated in the Lions Club and Native Sons of the Golden West and volunteered in their communities in California and Nevada. They spent a lot of time traveling the country in their camper with the family dog, Gunner, to visit family and friends. Gwen always had a working knitting project with her needles close by and her enjoyment of sewing was only exceeded by her love of reading. She enjoyed attending weddings, bouncing babies on her lap, and dining at Mexican restaurants particularly enjoying their Tamales and Margaritas.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, son Rene Miranda, and son Roger Miranda.

She is survived by son Rodney Miranda (Gini) and her daughters Rebecca Horn (Larry), Kathy Oveka, Cindy Ferrier (Brian), and Pennie Haight. She was blessed with innumerable grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
