Edgar Charles Platel, 78, passed away on Monday March 13, 2017 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH.
Edgar was born on Tuesday May 10, 1938 to Edgar Platel and Helen (Kitz) Platel in Philadelphia, PA.
Edgar was a proud member of the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife; Vickie Platel, five children; Nicole Platel, James Platel, Doreen Platel, Edward Platel, Michelle O'Neill Platel
Grandchildren; Christina (Richard) Dawkins, Ann Platel, Angie O'Neill, Keira O'Neill, John Platel, Eddie Platel, Charlie Platel, Isabella Platel, Joe Platel, Donyell Platel, and Dylan Platel
Along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Saint John XXIII Parish, 5170 Winchester Southern Road, Canal Winchester, OH 43110 at 11 AM where family will greet friends from 10 AM until time of service.
A burial will be held at New Cathedral Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA the following day, April 21, 2017 at 2 PM
