Bret Joseph Herren

Bret J. Herren, 58, of Westerville (though his heart belonged in Centerburg), passed away on September 29, 2023 at his home.

Born April 11, 1965 in Westerville, Ohio, a son of Joyce Speakman (DelCol-Herren) and the late David Herren. Bret was a graduate of Westerville South High School. He was an outdoorsman, hunting and fishing whenever he was able. He enjoyed spending time with family and one of his greatest joys was watching his grandkids play ball. He enjoyed reminiscing about the good old days, from childhood through his adult life, where he coached for many years, gaining what he called many more sons and daughters.

Surviving are his mother, Joyce Speakman; children Joe (Lorin) Herren, Brittany (Adam) Loudermilk, and Zach Herren; grandchildren Cole, Abby, Gracie, Sammie, Aria and Carter; sisters Angel Herren and Cassie (Bob) Elliot; brother John Speakman; nieces Jessica (Avelina) Herren, Lilliana Speakman, Olivia and Meg Elliot; nephews Daniel and Brendan Edison, Giovanni and Lochlan Speakman, Ty Elliot; as well as  many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Krissie Speakman.
