Alton "Peaches" Collins, of Urbancrest, Ohio, a dedicated individual who devoted 30 years of his life to serving the of Columbus, has peacefully passed away in his hometown on June 4th, 2024. Alton was born on April 14, 1953, in Columbus, Alton's legacy extends beyond his professional career.
His wife Linda fondly remembers his loving gesture of preparing breakfast and coffee for her every morning. Alton will be deeply missed by his wife Linda and their children. His surviving family includes his loving wife, Linda Collins, Brianne Thompson and her three children, Alton Dion Thompson and his two children, Tiffany Chariss Thompson with three children, Calvin Scott Collins with one child, Juanita Steward with four children, and Ashlee Morehead with four children.
Described as an amazing father and husband, Alton found joy in spending time with his grandchildren and pursuing his hobbies of fishing and caring for his loved ones. His proudest accomplishment was his family, whom he cherished dearly.
In addition to his immediate family, Alton is survived by his sisters Joanne Cornett and Lanelle Hagens, along with brothers Joe Nate Collins (Estel Collins), Calvin Collins, Willie Collins (Dre), and Aleezar Collins (Stacy). He also leaves behind a multitude of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will remember him fondly.
Among those who have passed before him are his parents, Nellie Mae, Willie Joe Collins; his sisters, Adelle (Deny) Collins; Lois Collins, and Inez Davis, his brother, James Collins; his nephew, Jimmy Davis; and niece, Kimberly Cornett.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Alton's life will be held at Edwards in Columbus on June 12, 2024. Gathering to honor the memory of this kind-hearted individual will commence at 10:30 AM with the service beginning at noon.
Alton will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His kindness, dedication to family, and unwavering love will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by him. May he rest in peace.
