Alonzo Charles Sammons age 90, passed away on June 13, 2024, at his home. He was the husband of Nellie Faith Boggs Sammons. They shared 49 years of marriage. 

He was born in Carter County, Kentucky on January 10, 1934, to the parents of Frank C. and Mildred C (Keys) Sammons. He was a self-employed painter for 50 years.

Survived by Wife Nellie Faith (Boggs) Sammons, and Two Daughters, Rebecca (James)Hanley of Corydon, Indiana. Cindy (Terry) Elliott of Grayson, Kentucky. One son, Alonzo Sammons of Columbus, Ohio. Four sisters, Elizabeth (Libby)Rogers, Shirlene (Shirl) Stone, Elsie Seagraves, and Anna Mullins.

Eleven grandchildren: Jason Moore, Jeremiah Moore, Elizabeth Hanley, Kevin Hanley, Kacey Hanley, Jessica Hanely, Jennifer Hanley, James Hanley, Alisha Blevins, Emily Elliott-McGonigle, Bethany Elliott, Leah Sammons, Zeek Sammons, and Leah Serrano.

Nine great-grandchildren Jacob Moore, Jamie Moore, Zachary Little, Kingston Elliott, Beau Blevins, Bryson McGonigle, Rosalyn Blevins, Colin McGonigle, Vivian Blevins and Laela Hanley.

And two great-great-grandchildren Allaya Moore and Alaina Moore.

Proceeded in death by his parents, Frank and Mildred Sammons, five siblings Ermagene Sammons, Ernest Sammons, Clinton Sammons, Delores Sammons, and Norma Sammons and two sons Charles Harold Sammons and David Johnathon Sammons.

There will be a public visitation held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 11am with a chapel service to begin at 12pm.  Services will be held at Families First Edwards located at 1166 Parsons Ave, Columbus, Ohio.  Burial to follow at Grandview Cemetery.
