Alfred Sellers Sr., 76, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026, leaving a legacy of music, laughter, and selfless service. He was the devoted husband of Sandra "Sandy" Sellers, with whom he shared 53 beautiful years of marriage and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born in Columbus, Alfred was the son of Frank Sellers Sr. and Herbert Moon Sellers Durr. He grew up alongside his four siblings—Arvelia, Bernetta, Frank Jr., and Marcia—and was a proud graduate of Central High School. Alfred dedicated 27 years of his professional life to the SouthEast Training Center (MRDD), retiring with a reputation for hard work and compassion.
Alfred was a man with a "larger-than-life" personality who never met a stranger. Whether he was walking down the street or attending a community event, he had a unique gift for making new friends and ensuring everyone around him felt seen and happy. His greatest passion was music; he loved not only listening to it but sharing his favorite melodies with others as a way to connect and spread joy.
Deeply committed to his community, Alfred was involved with several outreach programs, always finding a way to give back in any capacity he could. Above all else, he was a family man. His happiest moments were spent surrounded by his loved ones, ensuring their well-being and sharing in their lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his children, Cicly Tijuana Sellers and Alfred Sellers Jr.; and his granddaughter, Mariah Rose Sellers, who was the light of his life. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, extended family, and the countless friends whose lives he touched with his generous spirit.
